Itinerary

DAY 1

AND WE’RE OFF!!

Our luxury coach will depart from Southern Cross Station at 10am headed for the beautiful East Gippsland Lakes. On the way, you’ll enjoy a stop-off for lunch at ??????????????? and then onto Lakes Entrance. Number 1 The Esplanade. The Esplanade Resort & Spa - Lakes Entrance As you approach the end of this travel day and your premium accommodation, you’ll experience the magnificence of the entrance and views back toward Paynesville and Metung. It’s a sight to behold. Stretch your legs along the waterfront and meet for a sundown cocktail before returning to your accommodation for a dinner showcasing some of the best produce the region has to offer.

DAY 2

CAVES AND FINE DINING

Your day begins with Breakfast on site at Number One the Esplanade. You’ll have some time up your sleeve to explore Lakes Entrance and then mid-morning you’ll be boarding the coach for a short drive to the beautiful town of Buchan, located 40 minutes inland from your accommodation. Buchan is an area renowned for its caves, limestone cliffs and the Snowy River. Buchan has a rich history with fossils and bones of creatures found in the mega fauna period some 10,000 years ago. A delicious light lunch will be served on arrival in the township followed by a trip through The Buchan Caves. This experience is one of Victoria’s genuine treasures though we deliver it with a twist. Local singer songwriters “Raven & The Dove” will perform an incredible acoustic performance for you in the main chamber of the Royal Cave www.ravenandthedove.com The perfect acoustics of the cave offer a musical experience not offered to many. Our coach will then take you to The Riversleigh in Bairnsdale for a degustation dinner. The Riversleigh Boutique Accommodation in the heart of Bairnsdale Located in the heart of Bairnsdale’s central business district on a quiet street over-looking the Mitchell River, The Riversleigh is a fine example of beautifully preserved Victorian opulence, right here in the heart of East Gippsland. Our renown local chef will serve a locally sourced and grown menu and your host will be on hand to tell you more about East Gippsland and all it has to offer. Post dinner, your coach will take you back to your accommodation in Lakes Entrance or a night-cap in the on-site bar before you turn in for the day.

DAY 3

HOT SPRINGS OR GOLF ANYONE?

Breakfast will be served again on site at Number One the Esplanade and then your coach will deliver you to the Metung Hot Springs and Country Club Development. Metung Hot Springs is located on undulating land with stunning views over the region’s saltwater lagoon and freshwater lake. The 25-acre site boasts luxury glamping accommodation, a day spa, a restaurant, hilltop pools, massaging showers, saunas, cold plunge pools, a reflexology walk and plenty of other immersive experiences. If the Hot Springs are not quite your thing then enjoy a round of golf at neighbouring Metung Country Club. Metung Hot Springs recently took over the management of the Kings Cove Golf Club, a nine hole public course located 500 metres from the hot springs site. Metung Country Club is a resort-style, Ted Parslow designed golf course. One of the best 9 hold public access gold courses in Australia and located right on the edge of the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. Your travel concierge will be able to work with you on your preference for the day. The coach will then return you to your Lakes Entrance accommodation in time for an on-site dinner.

DAY 4

Just Cruising

You really can’t come to the East Gippsland region without a cruise through our beautiful lake system. Post breakfast at Number One and after some quality time relaxing or exploring your locale, it’s all aboard a lunch cruise. The waterway will take you through the gentle, rolling waters of the lake system and show you the incredible flora and fauna our region is known for. It will be a leisurely cruise and you will pass the historic Nyerimilang Homestead which will also be the site of dinner that evening. Back to your accommodation to freshen up and then a short ride to the magnificent Heritage park for a casual BBQ dinner catered by your hosts at Number One the Espalanade www.nyerimilang.com.au

DAY 5

HOMEWARD BOUND

Your coach back to Melbourne Metro departs at 10am from Number One the Esplanade, giving you time for a leisurely breakfast before departure. Lunch will be supplied along the way and we will deliver you safely to your original pick-up point no later than 4:00pm.
